This painting depicts creation aspects of the Ballardong tribal area situated in the Wheatbelt area of Western Australia. The river represents the Ballardong-Avon River which flows throughout the Wheatbelt town of York, Western Australia and beyond. The bilya-river is associated to the Waagyl-Rainbow serpent a mythological being which is connected to the creation of the Ballardong area. The painting also reflects the creation of the water sources, mountains and the Noongar people of this area.
